Whats In Your Pockets

This ongoing project comes from the offcuts of my C-type photogram prints.

In the Whats In Your Pockets installation, the badges were pinned to a window blind in a colour space formation. Viewers were invited to take a badge, so the artwork gradually dissolved like light fading, but the remained as bright and saturated in each persons’ hand, or fixed onto a hat or bag.

There no order to put them into reveal a complete image. The multicoloured blotch of them all is the ‘image’. Less like pixels, or blobs of paint, they are more like hole punch remnants, repurposed waste product. In this way they the subject of the image is elsewhere.

They twin a sense of displacement with safe keeping.
